Luc Fougeirol - Consultant et expert en crocodiles et autres reptiles

Cette formation d'une semaine alternait séances théoriques et pratiques dans le laboratoire où l'on a pu manipuler des serpents non venimeux, puis venimeux.

Cette semaine très enrichissante m'a donné l'occasion de rencontrer de très nombreux herpétologues, des intervenants particulièrement intéressants auprès desquels j'ai continué à apprendre beaucoup, même si le constat qui s'impose est que l'on ne sait toujours pas grand chose sur ces animaux fascinants que sont les reptiles.

A cette occasion j'ai eu le plaisir de retrouver mon ami Romulus Whitaker, qui était mon invité au congrès du Crocodile Specialist group en 2006 à Pierrelatte, et qui m'avait accueilli chez lui au Madras Crocodile Bank (Inde) puis à Agumbe Rainforest (Inde) quelques années plus tard.

J'ai invité Romulus, avec Patricia et Marc Jaeger, à visiter la Planète des Crocodiles à Civeaux (France). J'ai adoré son enthousiasme et son côté toujours passionné, prenant des photos et posant de très nombreuses questions partout dans la serre.

One week dedicated to the risky NAC

I had the opportunity and the pleasure to be invited in a formation dedicated to the risky NAC (new pets), organized in Planet Exotica (Royans), Patricia and Marc Jaeger's zoo.
The week alternated theoretical and practical sessions. In the laboratory we were able to handle not venomous snakes, then venomous one.
This very enriching week gave me opportunity to meet very numerous herpetologist, particularly interesting speakers who teach me a lot, even if the imperative report is that we still don't know much about these fascinating animals that are reptiles.

I also had the pleasure to meet my friend Romulus Whitaker, who was my guest at the congress of the Crocodile Specialist group in 2006 to Pierrelatte, and who had welcomed me at the Madras Crocodile Bank (India) then to Agumbe Rainforest (India) a few years later.
I invited Romulus, with Patricia and Marc Jaeger, to visit the Planet of Crocodiles in Civeaux (France). I loved his enthusiasm and his being always passionate, taking photos and asking very numerous questions everywhere in the glasshouse.
